Gethsemane Bible-Presbyterian Church’s Mission Stations

In the Gospel of Matthew, the Lord Jesus Christ said, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:19–20)

Gethsemane Bible-Presbyterian Church, Singapore, in response to the Great Commission of the Lord, has setup mission stations around the world. Our mission stations include Ethiopia (Africa), the Philippines, East Malaysia, India, and China.
our commitment to global missions

“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?”—Romans 10:14–15a

Preaching the Gospel to Every Creature

Gethsemane B-P Church, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The work in Ethiopia first started in the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, in August 2005. It was started by Rev. Ephrem Chiracho, who was a member of Gethsemane B-P Church (Singapore) when he was studying at Far Eastern Bible College.

While the church has grown steadily over the years, it is not without trouble. The church faces many oppositions from the charismatic churches in the area. We thank the LORD that the church and its members have remained faithful.

Since 2012, the work has been headed by Pr Engida Tefara. Rev. Ephrem Chiracho continues to give the pastoral oversight to the church in Addis Ababa.

Gethsemane B-P Church, Alem Gena, Ethiopia

The work in Alem Gena was started by Rev. Ephrem Chiracho in January 2009. By God's mercy, the work in Alem Gena also includes spreading the gospel to villages in the nearby area. There is also an evangelistic children's outreach to the poor children in the area. The children are taught to read and write, and the gospel is also shared to the children.

The Alem Gena church also houses the Gethsemane Bible Institute (Ethiopia) campus. The GBI was set up with the purpose of providing sound biblical, theological and practical training for full-time ministers as well as lay people to equip them for the accomplishment of the Great Commission.

Gethsemane B-P Church, Cebu, the Philippines

By the grace and mercies of God, Gethsemane B-P Church, Cebu, was established in July 2004. Since its inception, the LORD has blessed the church in many ways. From holding the worship services initially in a hotel function room with slightly over 50 people in attendance, the Lord had subsequently led us to a rented apartment building in 2005 that could house the church and all its ministries.

Gethsemane B-P Church Cebu is pastored by Rev. Reggor Galarpe. Rev. Reggor studied in Far Eastern Bible College from 2000–2003. Rev. Reggor also provides pastoral oversight to the other mission stations in the Philippines.

Gethsemane B-P Church, Bohol, the Philippines

The Gethsemane B-P Mission Church in Bohol, Tagbilaran, was started in July 2006. The island of Bohol is a two-hour speed boat ride away from Cebu City. A stronghold of Roman Catholicism, the work faces many setbacks from the people on the island.

Many are afraid of the persecution and humiliation of their Roman Catholic neighbours. Some who expressed faith and even been baptised have similarly left the church for fear of persecution. But we thank the LORD for those faithful members who continue to attend our service. May the LORD continually increase their faith in Him.

The work in Bohol also includes a children’s ministry in Anda and Candijay Provinces. Located 110km away from Tagbilaran City, bible studies are held there every Saturday.

The work in Bohol is led by Pr Edsel Locot, a graduate of FEBC.
