Growing in the Knowledge of God: Testimonies of TGCM Brethren

When it was announced that GBI-Online lectures would be held in TGCM where I reside, I counted it a special privilege and blessing, and thanked the Lord for the opportunity to do my Foundational Biblical Studies right where I reside. Every lesson has been refreshing and precious to me. Thank God for Pastor Koshy’s clear biblical teaching on “Theism”, which certainly helps me know more about God Himself, His existence, His attributes, His plans, and more. Learning great truths about God stirs my heart to love, obey and glorify Him. I am looking forward to next semester’s study on “Bibliology”, to better equip myself “for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12). I pray that God will equip me, through these studies in the GBI classes, to minister effectively God’s truth in the Prison Ministry and other opportunities.

I thank the LORD for giving Pastor Koshy the burden to start the GBI-Online classes on “Theism”. For a finite mind to understand an infinite God is truly beyond comprehension. So great are the mysteries of God that it is only by the truths He revealed in His Word and by the guidance of the Holy Spirit can we know Him. The study of God, His attributes, His works, His decrees, etc. from the Bible, has helped me tremendously to know God in a deeper manner. Studying the doctrine of God has benefited my life; I now pray with greater devotion and reverence for God. I am truly blessed to know more of God who is holy, just, righteous, loving, gracious and sovereign. Thank God also for Pr Samson’s efforts in organizing these classes.Gary Poh
I want to thank God for giving me the privilege to attend the GBI-Online classes conducted by our pastor. Truly, I confess that studying has never been my “cup of tea”; I always find it very difficult. However, I enjoyed listening to and learning from the Word of God. I am also thankful for fellow brethren in TGCM who helped me with my assignments. I am prayerfully looking forward to the next series of lectures on “Bibliology”.

Being hesitant at first to sign up for the GBI-Online class on “Theism”, due to lack of fluency in English, I prayed and asked God to help me to understand His Word. Thank God for enabling Pastor Koshy to teach us theology systematically and faithfully, and for opening my eyes to the truths of the Scriptures. Though I was worried about failing in the quizzes and assignments, the Lord enabled me to fulfil all the requirements for the course. When Pastor taught and explained the doctrine of God, I was greatly helped in my understanding about God, who is triune, eternal, sovereign, self-existent, self-sufficient, incomprehensible, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, holy and just. He created all things in the universe out of nothing by His Word and power. Now I know that I must approach God through His Word and prayer, with humility and rejoicing. Whatever I have learned from the GBI classes has helped me to walk close with the Lord and give Him the glory due unto His Name.

By God’s grace, I was given an opportunity to study Systematic Theology taught by Pastor Koshy. The Lord has enabled me to discover and receive so many precious biblical truths from the teaching of God’s Word. Truly, this is all within the good providence and decrees of God. He has foreordained, yea, even predetermined all things whatsoever that would come to pass. I am further encouraged through the course that everything is in God’s hands and therefore I should not fret. I must confess that I still experience lingering doubts on my future. But my faith is being strengthened through the learning of the wonderful doctrines of the Bible. I thank God that I managed to complete the first semester of study, and have been refreshed, refuelled and recharged. All glory to God for His immeasurable grace!

It has been my privilege to attend the GBI-Online Wednesday Night Class on “Theism”. I thank God that Pastor started this class so that we can learn sound theology systematically. In spite of my weakness in English, I thank God through the encouragement of Pastor and other brethren, that I was able, by God’s grace, to complete all the quizzes and assignments with joyfulness. These have helped me to grow in the knowledge of God and His Word, and also to improve my English. I was glad Pastor explained the errors of heresies about God, that I may guard against all those false doctrines. Learning about the decrees of God, which are His holy and wise plans and purposes, also made me realize that all my past worries had been in vain. So, if ever worry confronts my soul, I will just pray and trust in His wise decrees, which ensure that “all things work together for good” for His people. “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created” (Revelation 4:11).
