Seniors’ Outing to Malaysia

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

seniors from Gethsemane BPC had been waiting for with much excitement. It was a day trip to Malaysia (Yong Peng) for a time of relaxation and fellowship. The day began, by God’s amazing grace, with a beautiful weather . God also brought us safely to the Eunos carpark to board the coach to Malaysia. We could not help but remember what the Scriptures say in 1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” Throughout the journey, we experienced God’s grace and mercy in His loving care.

It was a fruitful and blessed outing which benefited many of the seniors and others who came. We started our journey with a word of prayer by Elder Mah. Then we sang spiritual songs and had some Bible games to recall God’s goodness towards us as we travelled in the coach. As the psalmist says in Psalm 147:1, “Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.” Likewise, in 1 Chronicles 29:13, we read: “Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.”

Our first stop was the mushroom farm where the local farmers explained to us how mushrooms are grown. Breakfast was provided and we had a taste of the local mushrooms besides nasi lemak, after which we continued our visit to the Foochow noodle factory outlets to learn about the manufacturing of raw noodles and cooked noodles.

After lunch, we proceeded to the vegetables and herbs farm to study and learn about the various herbs that benefit our physical bodies. Following the learning of physical things, we gathered to learn about spiritual things. Elder Mah led the singspiration and the preaching of the Word by Pr Jeremiah Sim was interpreted by Pr Daniel Lim. The seniors were exhorted on God’s assurance and care based on Psalm 71:5-9. We read that God took care of King David from his youth till he aged. We thank God for these verses which not only comfort and give us hope but also remind us that, as Christians, God will not forsake us but will continue to guide and care for us regardless of age.

Indeed, God’s grace and mercy were upon the seniors in the way He provided certain brethren who love the Lord to assist the uncles and aunties in their outing. We thank God for such brethren who laboured in God’s love to serve others.

Psalm 66:4 – “All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name.”

Psalm 66:8-9 – “O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard: Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.”

All glory and honour to our glorious God!

“The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we
are glad” (Psalm 126:3).
