Over the last two weeks, we have learned from the Bible that the rainbow not only reminds us about God's graciousness and faithfulness (Genesis 9:11), but also His grandeur and splendour (Ezekiel 1:28).

When the apostle John was given the revelation of future things to come, the Lord showed him the throne in heaven. While describing the scene in heaven, John wrote, "there was a rainbow round about the throne" (Revelation 4:3b).

Have you ever seen a rainbow in a full circle? No one has ever seen a complete rainbow, but one that is broken at the bottom. But according to the promise of Revelation 4:3, in heaven we shall see a complete rainbow with no break. It will not be an arc, but a complete circle!

In heaven, everything will be complete and perfect. God's covenant of mercy towards sinners will finally be complete, and all of us who are saved will be completely delivered from all of God's wrath and fully saved in His presence for all eternity. We will see the grace of God in its full display, when we finally reach our heavenly home.

Another unique feature about the rainbow in heaven is that its most outstanding colour will be a pleasant green colour of the emerald gem. We read in Revelation 4:3, "and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald." This predominant colour of the rainbow in heaven is understood as representing the reviving and refreshing nature of the glory land where we shall be forever.

What a great pleasant surprise awaits us! I certainly believe the rainbow around the throne of heaven is a lot more brilliant than what we see today. Certainly, no words of the poets of this world can fully describe that glorious display of God's grace and glory in heaven! I can't wait to get to heaven! How about you? Lord Jesus, come quickly! Amen.
