“Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.”
Many people present themselves before others as strong and confident. They like to impress others with their plans and ideas. They even ask others to trust their ideas, by presenting themselves as being confident about the success of their schemes.
No matter how confident one might appear to be, the Bible reminds us that every man and his thoughts will perish the moment his breath stops. Man is mortal. He dies, and all his ideas also perish.
When death comes, all the purposes and designs of even the strongest man come to a standstill. All the ideas he had ever formed will come to nothing.
Only God lives for ever. Hence, His thoughts and counsels alone last for ever. So instead of following ideas of mortal man, let us follow the wisdom and counsel of our infinite, eternal God.
