“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.”
From the day of Creation, God expected man to be industrious or diligent. We read in Genesis 2:15, “And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.” God expected Adam to dress and keep the garden of Eden.
Our life is like a garden which needs a hardworking gardener. A lazy man’s garden will be full of weeds, and it will not yield anything beautiful and nourishing. But a diligent gardener’s field will surely have much good produce. In our daily life, as we aim for good success, we must be diligent to do all our duties and responsibilities.
Every child of God who wants spiritual enrichment and progress must be diligent in studying God’s Word, praying, evangelising, encouraging believers and preparing for the coming of Christ. When Jesus comes again, those who have diligently and faithfully served Him will have great rewards.
