“For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.”
Every godly father’s greatest desire in nurturing his children is to provide the best advice – “Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law” (Proverbs 4:1-2).
God’s Word wants every child to know that the Biblical advice that their parents give them is the best education that they can ever get in this world. The godly instruction that a child receives at his home is better than all other education in the world.
If children will persistently take heed of their godly father’s sound teaching and instruction, they would gain excellent wisdom and understanding that will guide them through all their lives.
Let us pray that all our homes be places of godly wisdom and teaching. Our homes should be places of great learning – where parents teach sound doctrines, and children earnestly learn and practise them with much humility and prayer.
