“To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”
As the close of his epistle, Jude offered praise to “the only wise God our Savior”. He ascribed “glory and majesty, dominion and power” to Christ our Saviour and God.
The words which Jude used to render praise to God are depictive of Christ’s divine greatness and supremacy. “Glory” denotes all the divine attributes of Christ in their powerful radiance; “majesty” signifies the absolute reign of Christ with the Father; “dominion” refers to the extent of His authority and might over all creatures and realms; “power” denotes Christ’s supreme right and strength to do all that He wills.
Christ reigns over everything in the universe, and His reign shall endure forever. In Revelation 1:8, the Lord Jesus said of Himself, “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”
Oh, how wondrous it is that our Saviour Jesus Christ is so wondrously and powerfully great! Because of His incontestable greatness, our salvation is sure and our hope of heaven is settled. Let us joyfully worship our Saviour and King, the Lord Jesus Christ!
